AU sole traders · receipt record-keeping · general information, not tax or BAS advice · A$29/mo

The weekly nag that keeps your receipts organised, so your accountant gets a clean quarterly pack.

You're not bad at admin; admin just never reminded you. Receipt Rescue nags you every Sunday at 6pm, takes your receipt photos, files them under your categories, and hands your accountant a tidy pack at quarter end. For sole traders without payroll. One plan at A$29 per month (AUD, GST incl.), cancel anytime. It is not a tax service, not a BAS service, and never a substitute for your registered agent.

A quarter, on the ledger

Here is what changes, week by week.

Not features. The actual rhythm of a quarter with the nag running. If this rhythm does not describe your problem, this product is not for you.

WK 1–9

Sunday nags keep the pile near zero. One SMS plus one email digest a week. You snap or forward the docket; your rule map files it automatically. The ambiguous ones wait in a "Needs your call" bucket. Nobody guesses on your behalf.

WK 10–12

Reminders escalate ahead of the ATO's published quarterly BAS due dates. Firmer reminders, gap flags on missing weeks. We track the dates the ATO publishes each year (current schedule at ato.gov.au). Dates only, never tax advice.

Q-END + 7

The quarterly expense pack lands. Cover page, per-category amount totals, CSV ledger, receipt-images ZIP, gap report, accountant handover checklist. You hand it over; they do the tax part. That was always the deal. We just made your half painless.

How it works

Nag, snap, filed. That is the whole product.

Our customer is the person who ignores admin. So reminders, not features, are the product.

01

Sunday 6pm: the nag

A weekly SMS plus email check-in: "Any receipts this week?" Escalates in the three weeks before the ATO's published quarterly due dates. Snooze or pause anytime from the preference centre: weekly, fortnightly, or deadline-only; SMS-only or email-only.

02

Snap or forward

Photo upload via a magic link, or just email-forward dockets to your intake address. OCR transcribes what is printed on the docket: merchant, date, total, GST shown. Never computed or guessed.

03

Receipts land in categories you defined at onboarding, strictly your rule map. Anything ambiguous goes in "Needs your call" for you to decide. Never ours to interpret, never tax treatment.

Honest comparison

Why not just use Hnry?

Fair question. Hnry is a registered tax agent with automated expense capture and filing, and it is good at what it does. Here is the honest math.

Stick with Hnry if…

  • Hnry charges 1% + GST of income [Hnry published pricing, check hnry.com.au]. Below roughly $32k annual income, that works out cheaper or about even with our flat A$29/mo. Lower earners: Hnry is likely the better deal, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
  • You want filing and tax calculations done for you by a registered agent.

Receipt Rescue fits if…

  • You earn above ~$32k: flat A$29/mo undercuts 1%-of-income pricing, and the gap grows with income. [illustrative arithmetic on published prices]
  • You already have an accountant you like. We are a nag-and-file layer on top, not a replacement. No bank-switching, no re-platforming your money.
  • Your actual problem is the shoebox, not the tax return.

The boundary is the product. Read this before anything else.

Receipt Rescue is a record-keeping and reminder service. It is explicitly not a tax service, not a BAS service, and not a substitute for your registered BAS agent, tax agent, or accountant. All tax interpretation stays with you and your agent.

  • No BAS-label figures, no GST totals, no pre-filling or reviewing BAS forms.
  • No GST-treatment or claimability advice. Every tax question gets a scripted deflection to your agent.
  • No lodgement with the ATO. We never hold out as a BAS agent, tax agent, accountant, or adviser.
  • Not for businesses with payroll, companies or trusts, monthly BAS lodgers, or anyone who wants lodgement done for them. We will point you to a registered BAS agent instead.

Straight answers

Real objections, answered straight

Do you prepare or lodge my BAS?
No, never. We do not prepare, review, or lodge BAS, and we do not promise any tax outcome or GST saving. Your quarterly pack goes to your accountant or registered BAS agent; the tax part is theirs. If you ask us a tax-treatment question, you will get a polite scripted deflection, not an answer.
So what exactly does my accountant receive?
A pack delivered 7 days after quarter end: a cover page, per-category amount totals (amounts only, no GST totals, no BAS labels), a CSV ledger, a ZIP of receipt images, a gap report flagging missing weeks, and a handover checklist. Clean input for them to do the professional part.
I am a company, have employees, or lodge BAS monthly. Can I join?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Receipt Rescue is designed for sole traders without payroll. Companies, trusts, monthly lodgers, and anyone wanting lodgement done for them should go straight to a registered BAS agent. The TPB register at tpb.gov.au lists them.
What do the nags cost me in attention?
One SMS plus one email digest per week by default, firmer in the three weeks before the ATO's published quarterly due dates. You can switch to fortnightly or deadline-only, SMS-only or email-only, and pause or snooze anytime from the preference centre.
Is my receipt data private?
Receipts contain real financial data, so this matters. Here is the deal: we transcribe and file your receipts and never perform tax interpretation on them. We never sell your data. Receipt data is kept while you are subscribed and for 90 days after cancellation, then deleted. You can request earlier deletion anytime.
How do I sign up, and what happens after?
Submit the checkout form now. No card details are collected and no payment is taken; your reference number was generated in your browser only; screenshot it and quote it when you contact us. When payment opens you complete checkout securely, set your categories and nag preferences at onboarding, and the first nag arrives the following Sunday at 6pm. Your quarterly pack is delivered 7 days after each quarter end. Cancel anytime from the preference centre; cancellation is pro-rata.
What if it does not work for me?
Cancel in the first 30 days and get a full refund, processed within 5 business days. No forms, no interrogation. The full refund wording is in the terms.

Your accountant cannot file what you never send them.

General information only. Receipt Rescue is a record-keeping and reminder service. Nothing on this site is tax advice, BAS advice, financial advice, or a recommendation about your tax affairs. All tax interpretation stays with you and your registered BAS/tax agent.
